History of the RATP Logo
RATP was created in 1949 to operate all of Paris’s public transport under one authority. Its beloved logo, designed in its modern form around the turn of the 2000s, draws the course of the River Seine through Paris as the profile of a face looking upward, set in a green circle above the blue RATP letters — an emblem recognised across the capital. The current RATP logo presented on this page is the official mark in use today, kept in its original colors and proportions.
Meaning of the RATP Logo
- The wavy line is both the River Seine and a human face in profile, putting the passenger at the heart of Paris.
- The green circle stands for the city, the environment and the network that loops around the capital.
- The deep blue lettering gives the operator a calm, dependable, institutional presence.
