DSB Overview
DSB (Danske Statsbaner, Danish State Railways) is Denmark’s largest train operator, running intercity, regional and Copenhagen S-tog commuter services across the country.
- Introduced: 1885
- Founder / Formed by: Danish state
- Headquarters: Copenhagen, Denmark
- Industry: Rail transport
- Website: dsb.dk
History of the DSB Logo
DSB was established in 1885 when Denmark’s state railways on Zealand and in Jutland and Funen were unified under one administration. The company’s current identity places the white DSB initials inside a bold red, softly rounded hexagon-like badge, a friendly evolution of the red marks DSB has used for generations. The current DSB logo presented on this page is the official mark in use today, kept in its original colors and proportions.
Meaning of the DSB Logo
- The red badge is a confident national symbol, echoing the red of the Danish flag.
- The rounded, almost hexagonal container feels like a friendly sign or button, easy to spot on platforms and trains.
- The clean white capitals keep the 140-year-old initials crisp, modern and highly legible at speed.
