History of the CAF Logo
CAF began in 1917 in Beasain, Gipuzkoa, growing out of earlier Basque iron and rail workshops into Spain’s great train builder. It now supplies Urbos trams, Civia and Oaris trains and metro fleets from Houston to Sydney. The interlocking red CAF monogram, unchanged in spirit for decades, is stamped on rolling stock across five continents. The current CAF logo presented on this page is the official mark in use today, kept in its original colors and proportions.
Meaning of the CAF Logo
- The three letters interlock into one solid block, symbolising integrated engineering.
- CAF red conveys energy, movement and Basque industrial heritage.
- The slanted A bridges the C and F, hinting at a rail track joining two points.
