History of the Talgo Logo
Talgo takes its name from Tren Articulado Ligero Goicoechea Oriol — the articulated lightweight train developed by engineer Alejandro Goicoechea with financing from José Luis Oriol in 1942. Its articulated, low-floor trains went on to carry passengers across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Central Asia. The flowing red script signature has fronted the company since its earliest trains. The current Talgo logo presented on this page is the official mark in use today, kept in its original colors and proportions.
Meaning of the Talgo Logo
- The handwritten script gives the industrial brand a personal, signature-like character.
- Talgo red signals speed, passion and Spanish design flair.
- The sweeping capital T stretches forward like a train accelerating along the track.
