Introduction
An orange medical cross carrying the silhouettes of a dog and a cat in its negative space — the Banfield Pet Hospital logo in this download is the current identity of America’s largest veterinary practice.
Brand Overview
Banfield Pet Hospital is an American veterinary company founded in 1955 in Portland, Oregon. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, and part of the Mars family of companies, Banfield operates more than 1,000 clinics in the United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom — many of them inside PetSmart stores. Its official website is banfield.com.
History of the Banfield Logo
Banfield began as a single Portland veterinary clinic and grew, especially after joining Mars, into a national hospital network. The current identity sets the name in one flat orange beneath a cross whose cut-out centre forms a dog and cat facing each other — a mark equally at home on a hospital wall and a pet’s medical record.
Meaning of the Logo
- The cross: Borrowed from human medicine, it promises clinical seriousness — this is a hospital, not a pet shop.
- The hidden animals: A dog and a cat are carved out of the cross itself: the patients live inside the medicine, not beside it.
- One flat orange: A single warm orange keeps the clinical symbol friendly — urgent enough for a hospital, soft enough for a waiting room of nervous owners.
Banfield Logo Colors
| Color | Hex Code | Usage |
|---|---|---|
| Banfield Orange | #F26322 | The cross, the wordmark and the “Pet Hospital” line (the logo file’s own fill value) |
The Banfield logo is a one-colour identity in this orange, with the animals formed by transparent cut-outs; the space around it in this download is fully transparent.
Conclusion
Banfield’s logo hides its patients inside its promise: a medical cross with a dog and a cat quietly waiting at its heart.
