Mapei Logo Overview
Mapei S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer of chemical products for the building industry — tile adhesives, grouts, waterproofing and concrete admixtures — founded in Milan in 1937 and now operating in more than 100 countries, famous also as a long-time cycling sponsor.
- Founded: 1937
- Headquarters: Milan, Italy
- Industry: Construction & Building

History of the Mapei Logo
Rodolfo Squinzi founded MAPEI (Materiali Ausiliari Per l’Edilizia e l’Industria) in 1937 with seven employees, making paints and building auxiliaries. As the company grew into a global group, its blue identity — the laboratory flask mark and urgent italic lettering — stayed constant, a nod to the chemistry inside every bag and bucket.
Meaning of the Mapei Logo
- The flask icon declares the company’s laboratory origins — these are formulated chemical products, not commodities.
- Italic lettering conveys Italian dynamism and the fast-setting nature of its adhesives.
- Mapei Blue dominates its packaging, making whole shelves of product read as one brand block.
