Cemex Logo Overview
Cemex is a Mexican multinational building materials company — one of the world’s largest cement producers — supplying cement, ready-mix concrete and aggregates in more than 50 countries, and a pioneer of digital ordering in the industry.
- Founded: 1906
- Headquarters: San Pedro Garza García (Monterrey), Mexico
- Industry: Construction & Building
- Website: https://www.cemex.com
History of the Cemex Logo
Founded in 1906 with the Cementos Hidalgo plant in northern Mexico, Cemex grew through bold international acquisitions in the 1990s and 2000s into a global giant. Its famous blue-and-red striped logo served for decades; in 2023 Cemex refreshed the identity, keeping the twin slashes but simplifying them into one red and one blue stroke and redrawing the wordmark with softer, friendlier corners.
Meaning of the Cemex Logo
- The twin slashes suggest speed, momentum and the diagonal energy of a company always moving forward.
- Red and blue together nod to the original striped logo and to Mexico’s place in the company’s story.
- The rounded 2023 letterforms make a heavy-industry giant feel digital and approachable.
