Bimota Overview
Bimota is a boutique Italian manufacturer of exotic, limited-run motorcycles, known for radical chassis design around other makers’ engines and now part-owned by Kawasaki.
- Founded: 1973
- Headquarters: Rimini, Italy
- Industry: Motorcycles
- Website: bimota.it
History of the Bimota Logo
Bimota was founded in Rimini in 1973 by Valerio Bianchi, Giuseppe Morri and Massimo Tamburini — the name joining their initials (Bi-Mo-Ta). Its handmade specials, from the HB1 to the Tesi with hub-centre steering, made it the definitive boutique marque. The current logo pairs the red-and-black ‘b’ symbol with a lowercase wordmark, as presented here. The current Bimota logo presented on this page is the official mark in use today, kept in its original colors and proportions.
Meaning of the Bimota Logo
- The circular b is a wheel and a signature at once — the founder-engineers’ initials compressed into one mark.
- Red for Italian racing passion; black for the carbon fibre Bimota builds with.
- Lowercase lettering keeps a superbike boutique feeling human and approachable.
