Brand Overview
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is Israel’s largest aerospace and defense company, state-owned and headquartered in Lod, beside Ben Gurion Airport. Founded in 1953, it builds satellites, the Arrow missile defense system, Heron drones, radar, and converts and maintains aircraft — the industrial backbone of Israel’s defense since the state’s first decade.

History of the Israel Aerospace Industries Logo
IAI began in 1953 as Bedek Aviation, an aircraft maintenance shop founded with American Al Schwimmer in a young state that could not rely on foreign suppliers. The logo fuses the national symbol with the company’s trade: a Star of David held inside orbiting rings — satellites and radar sweeps circling the star — beside the initials in the same blue, italicised for altitude.
Meaning of the Israel Aerospace Industries Logo
- The star in orbit: the national emblem placed in space — a state industry drawn as a satellite mark.
- The orbital rings: radar sweeps and satellite paths, the two circles of IAI’s work, drawn around the star.
- IAI blue: a bright sky blue — the medium every product in the catalogue flies, orbits or scans.
