About the Montblanc Logo Logo
Introduction
One word in a custom, quietly architectural typeface — the Montblanc logo in this download is the wordmark of the Hamburg house whose white star caps the world’s finest pens.
Brand Overview
Montblanc is a German luxury goods manufacturer founded in 1906 in Hamburg, Germany. Part of the Richemont group, the house is famed for the Meisterstück fountain pen and now spans writing instruments, watches, leather goods and fragrance — all signed with the white star. Its official website is montblanc.com.
History of the Montblanc Logo
The company began in 1906 as the Simplo Filler Pen Company and soon renamed itself after Mont Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps — a metaphor for the pinnacle of writing. In 1913 the white star emblem appeared: six rounded points representing the mountain’s snow-covered glaciers, destined to cap every pen. The wordmark evolved into the distinctive lettering in this download — note the lambda-like “A” without its crossbar, a subtle mountain peak hidden in the name — and together, star and wordmark remain the house’s signature today.
Meaning of the Logo
- The white star: The snowcap of Mont Blanc seen from above — six glaciers radiating from a summit of craftsmanship.
- The peak-cut A: The crossbar-less A turns a letter into a mountain silhouette inside the name itself.
- Black and white: Ink on paper — the brand’s eternal palette, drawn straight from its founding product.

Conclusion
Montblanc’s wordmark hides a mountain in its letters — a quiet emblem for a house built on reaching the top.
