Volvo Construction Equipment Logo Overview
Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) is the construction machinery arm of the Volvo Group and one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction equipment, known for articulated haulers — a machine class it invented — as well as excavators, wheel loaders and road machinery.
- Founded: 1832
- Headquarters: Gothenburg, Sweden
- Industry: Construction & Building
- Website: https://www.volvoce.com
History of the Volvo Construction Equipment Logo
The business traces back to 1832, when Johan Theofron Munktell founded a mechanical workshop in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The company became Bolinder-Munktell in 1932, then Volvo BM after Volvo took full control, before adopting the Volvo Construction Equipment name in 1995. The spaced-letter VOLVO wordmark has remained the constant face of the brand through every one of those changes, drawn from the same lettering the Volvo Group has used since 1927.
Meaning of the Volvo Construction Equipment Logo
- The wide letter spacing gives the wordmark a calm, engineered authority that reads clearly on machine panels and site signage.
- Volvo Blue is the group’s corporate color, signalling Scandinavian quality, safety and durability.
- The plain wordmark — without decoration — reflects Volvo’s design philosophy of honest, functional Swedish engineering.
