History of the RTX Logo
The company launched in 2020 as Raytheon Technologies, carrying two century-old names. In 2023 it shortened itself to RTX — the name its stock had traded under — and rolled out a unified identity: a radiating sun device, shared across the parent and its businesses, with each unit signing its name beneath the same mark. The eagle-era and script-era logos of its predecessor companies were retired to history.
Meaning of the RTX Logo
- The sun device: radiating bars form a rising sun and a turbine at once — energy, radar sweeps and engines in one geometry.
- Three letters: RTX compresses Raytheon and Technologies into a ticker symbol — a group that now speaks in initials.
- Black only: the identity refuses colour, letting the same mark sit on an engine, a missile or an annual report.
