Knauf Logo Overview
Knauf Group is a German family-owned multinational and the world’s leading producer of gypsum plasterboard and drywall systems, along with plasters, insulation and ceiling systems, operating more than 300 plants in over 90 countries.
- Founded: 1932
- Headquarters: Iphofen, Germany
- Industry: Construction & Building
- Website: https://www.knauf.com
History of the Knauf Logo
Brothers Alfons and Karl Knauf, mining engineers, founded the company in 1932 with a gypsum mine on the Moselle; after the war they pioneered factory-made plasterboard in Iphofen. The blue italic wordmark — refreshed most recently in the 2024 file offered here — has become shorthand on building sites for drywall itself.
Meaning of the Knauf Logo
- The forward italic slant suggests fast, light dry construction — Knauf’s whole alternative to wet masonry.
- The extended K gives the name an architectural, structural profile, like a section through a wall.
- Knauf Blue is bright and technical, standing out on white boards and packaging across the site.
