Brand Overview
Dassault Aviation is a French aircraft manufacturer headquartered in Paris, maker of the Rafale fighter, the Mirage family before it, and the Falcon business jets. Founded by Marcel Dassault, it remains family-controlled and is unique among major aircraft makers in spanning combat aircraft and luxury jets under one name.

History of the Dassault Aviation Logo
Marcel Bloch founded the company in 1929; surviving the camps, he took the name Dassault — his brother’s Resistance codename, from char d’assaut, ‘battle tank’ — and rebuilt French military aviation around it. The logo’s swept delta abstracts the wing shape his jets made famous, from the Mirage III’s triangle to the Rafale. The soft blue-grey keeps a warplane maker’s mark deliberately understated.
Meaning of the Dassault Aviation Logo
- The delta symbol: the triangular wing of the Mirage, abstracted into a single swept gesture.
- The two-line lockup: DASSAULT over AVIATION — a surname and its trade, stated without decoration.
- Blue-grey: the colour of high-altitude haze and machined aluminium — understatement as a house style.
