About the Calm Logo Logo
Introduction
Four letters written like a sigh, in a gradient that runs from morning-sky blue to deep indigo — the Calm logo in this download is the current identity of the world’s best-known meditation and sleep app.
Brand Overview
Calm is an American software company founded in 2012 in San Francisco by Michael Acton Smith and Alex Tew. Its app — famous for Sleep Stories read in soothing voices — was named Apple’s App of the Year in 2017 and became the first mental-health “unicorn”. Its official website is calm.com.
History of the Calm Logo
Calm has used a handwritten script wordmark since its earliest years — a deliberate contrast to the geometric sans-serifs of Silicon Valley. As the app grew, the script settled into its current form: the word drawn in one flowing, unhurried stroke and finished in the brand’s blue gradient, the same artwork Calm places on its app icon and website today. That wordmark is the version in this download.
Meaning of the Logo
- The handwriting: A script this loose can’t be rushed — the lettering itself demonstrates the product’s promise.
- The gradient: The colour drifts from light sky blue to deep indigo, the exact path of the sky as you fall asleep.
- No symbol needed: Four letters carry the whole brand; the word “calm”, written calmly, is the logo and the advertisement in one.
Calm Logo Colors
| Color | Hex Code | Usage |
|---|---|---|
| Calm Sky Blue | #60B4E7 | The top of the script’s gradient (the logo file’s own stop value) |
| Calm Indigo | #6461E0 | The base of the script’s gradient (the logo file’s own stop value) |
The wordmark is a true gradient logo: the artwork blends continuously from sky blue at the top of the letters to indigo at their base, and everything outside the lettering in this download is fully transparent.
Conclusion
Calm’s logo is the product in miniature: a handwritten word and a sky darkening gently — two seconds of looking at it and your shoulders already drop.
