About the Boots Logo Logo
Introduction
A theatrical swirl of calligraphy — capital B like a ribbon being twirled — the Boots logo in this download is the current identity of Britain’s best-known pharmacy chain, in the deep blue script the brand uses today.
Brand Overview
Boots is a British health and beauty retailer founded in 1849 in Nottingham, England, by John Boot, who opened a small herbalist shop on Goose Gate. Headquartered in Beeston, Nottingham, Boots operates around 2,000 stores across the UK and Ireland and has been part of Walgreens Boots Alliance since 2014. Its official website is boots.com.
History of the Boots Logo
The famous Boots script grew out of the hand-lettered signatures of the company’s early years and was standardised in the early twentieth century, becoming one of the most recognised wordmarks on the British high street. For decades it appeared in white inside a blue oval on shopfronts; the current digital identity leads with the script alone in deep Boots blue — the version in this download.
Meaning of the Logo
- The calligraphy: The looping script is a Victorian chemist’s handwriting — heritage and personal service drawn as lettering.
- The great B: The oversized, ribbon-like capital turns the initial into an emblem that works even before the word is read.
- Boots blue: The deep navy-blue is the colour of the British high street’s most trusted shopfront — clinical, calm and unmistakably Boots.

| Color | Hex Code | Usage |
|---|---|---|
| Boots Blue | #1E1C59 | The complete script wordmark (the logo file’s own fill value) |
The script is supplied here in its primary one-colour form; on Boots’ own shopfronts and packaging the same lettering appears reversed in white over Boots blue.
Conclusion
Boots’ logo is a signature that outlived its century: a Nottingham herbalist’s handwriting, still signing every high street in Britain.
