About Apollo Tyres

Apollo Tyres Ltd is an Indian multinational tyre manufacturer headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana. Incorporated on September 28, 1972, it commissioned its first plant at Perambra, Thrissur, Kerala, in 1977, beginning with truck tyres — its first was the Rajdhani. Today the company operates five manufacturing units in India plus plants in Hungary and the Netherlands, sells Apollo and Vredestein branded tyres in more than 100 countries, and employs over 16,000 people worldwide. It grew into a global player by expanding across India and acquiring Dunlop’s African operations, becoming one of the world’s largest tyre makers.

Apollo Tyres Logo Meaning and History

The Apollo Tyres logo pairs a bold APOLLO wordmark with TYRES set beneath it, often accompanied by a circular emblem. The name references Apollo, the Greek god of the sun — a fitting symbol for a brand built on motion, energy, and the open road. The identity uses strong, confident lettering that conveys durability, grip, and performance, qualities every driver expects from their tyres.
