About Anheuser-Busch

Anheuser-Busch Companies, LLC is a Belgian-American brewing company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 1852 as the Bavarian Brewery, it was purchased in 1860 by Eberhard Anheuser, whose son-in-law Adolphus Busch joined the business in 1869; the company became the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Association in 1879. Anheuser-Busch became the largest brewer in the United States in 1957, and in November 2008 it was acquired by Belgium’s InBev for nearly $52 billion, forming Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), the world’s largest brewing company.

Anheuser-Busch Logo Meaning and History

The classic Anheuser-Busch logo is the heritage “A & Eagle” crest, in use from 1879 to 2022 — one of the longest-running corporate marks in American business. The eagle embodies American pride and strength, while the ornate crest speaks to the company’s 19th-century German brewing roots. The Budweiser brand, launched in 1876, became America’s first national beer thanks to the company’s pioneering refrigerated railcars and pasteurization.
