América Futebol Clube, based in Joinville, Santa Catarina, was founded on 14 June 1914 and became one of the traditional clubs of southern Brazilian football. The club won the Campeonato Catarinense state championship five times — in 1947, 1948, 1951, 1952, and 1971 — establishing itself as a regional power in the mid-twentieth century. In 1976, América merged with Caxias Futebol Clube to form Joinville Esporte Clube, the club that would go on to dominate Santa Catarina football. After the merger, the América name returned at amateur level, keeping the historic identity alive for new generations of Joinville football fans.
The América Futebol Clube logo is a historic Brazilian football crest carrying the red-and-white identity traditionally associated with América clubs across Brazil. The badge follows the classic conventions of early Brazilian football heraldry: a shield containing the club’s star, initials, and founding year 1914, rendered in bold colors designed to inspire passion on the terraces. When the club merged into Joinville Esporte Clube in 1976, the original crest became a cherished historical artifact, preserved by supporters and now circulating in vector-logo archives. The logo stands as a visual monument to Joinville’s football heritage and the golden era of Catarinense football.
