About DuckDuckGo
DuckDuckGo is a privacy-focused search engine and software company founded in 2008 by Gabriel Weinberg and headquartered in Paoli, Pennsylvania. Unlike mainstream search engines, DuckDuckGo does not track, store, or share users’ personal information — no search histories, no profiles, no filter bubbles. The company’s name alludes to the children’s game duck, duck, goose. Beyond search, DuckDuckGo offers browser extensions, a private web browser, @duck.com email protection, and a Privacy Pro subscription, and it advocates for stronger online privacy protections.
DuckDuckGo Logo Meaning and History
The DuckDuckGo logo features a cheerful duck’s head — a playful, approachable mascot for a serious mission. The duck embodies the brand’s promise: search that is friendly, simple, and never watching you. The current mark, in use since 2023, refines the duck into a cleaner, more modern form while keeping the character that made the privacy search engine memorable.
DuckDuckGo Logo Evolution
- 2008: Gabriel Weinberg launches DuckDuckGo on 25 September 2008, introducing the duck mascot identity.
- 2010s: The duck head is refined through several iterations as the search engine grows from 1 million to tens of millions of daily searches.
- 2021-2022: DuckDuckGo expands into a full privacy suite — private browser, email protection, and app tracking protection — under the same duck brand.
- 2023: The current streamlined duck-head logo is introduced, in use across search, browser, and extensions.
DuckDuckGo Logo Colors and Font
The brand’s signature color is a warm red-orange (#DE5833) — the unmistakable tone of the duck’s head — typically paired with white and dark charcoal. The wordmark uses a friendly, rounded custom typeface. The flat vector artwork reproduces crisply at any size, so whether you need a duckduckgo logo png with a transparent background or a duckduckgo logo svg vector, the mark stays sharp.
