Air Miles is Canada’s premier coalition loyalty program, launched in 1992. Collectors earn reward miles by doing their everyday shopping with more than 240 brand-name sponsors — including Bank of Montreal, American Express, and Jean Coutu pharmacies — and redeem them for more than 1,200 rewards spanning travel, entertainment, merchandise, and gift cards. With more than 10 million active collector accounts representing roughly two-thirds of Canadian households, Air Miles is one of the country’s most widely used loyalty programs. The program was acquired by Alliance Data Systems in 1998 (the loyalty division became LoyaltyOne in 2008), and in 2017 the Canadian Air Miles trademarks were sold to Diversified Royalty Corp.
The classic Air Miles logo is a globe-style roundel: a blue circle carrying the words “AIR MILES” around a gray airplane, with the tagline “Travel the World” beneath — a direct nod to the program’s core promise of dream travel rewards. The airplane evokes aspirational journeys, while the blue-and-white palette signals trust and reliability.
The classic mark pairs travel blue with white and silver-gray: a blue circle with white “AIR MILES” lettering and clouds, a gray airplane at the center, and the blue “Travel the World” tagline. The palette is optimistic and trustworthy — the visual language of flight and freedom.
