History of the SAME Logo
SAME — Societa Accomandita Motori Endotermici — was founded in 1942 in Treviglio, Italy, by brothers Francesco and Eugenio Cassani, who had built one of the first diesel farm tractors in 1927. SAME pioneered four-wheel drive and air-cooled diesel engines for tractors, and in the 1970s began the acquisitions that created today’s SDF Group, which also owns Deutz-Fahr, Lamborghini Trattori and Hürlimann. The giant red SAME block letters are unmistakable on any bonnet. The current SAME logo presented on this page is the official mark in use today, kept in its original colors and proportions.
Meaning of the SAME Logo
- The massive red block letters project raw tractor power and Italian industrial confidence.
- Red is SAME’s historic colour, worn by its tractors since the Cassani brothers’ first machines.
- The compact four-letter wordmark keeps the acronym itself as the brand’s badge of honour.
