Volato Group Becomes SOAR AI: New Logo, New Name, New Identity (2026)

In one of the fastest corporate reinventions of 2026, Volato Group, Inc. — once known as a private-jet operator — announced on October 8, 2026 that it was changing its corporate name to SOAR AI, Inc., unveiling a new corporate logo, a fresh visual identity, and a new corporate website at SOARAI.com. The name change took effect on October 19, 2026, with trading under the new name beginning on the NYSE American on October 20, 2026. The company’s stock continues to trade under its existing ticker symbol, “SOAR,” and the CUSIP number is unchanged — stockholders needed to take no action.

What “SOAR” stands for

SOAR is short for “Sovereign AI Resources,” a name the company says reflects its strategy of developing AI infrastructure that gives customers greater control over their data, models, and computing environments — while working with host communities to responsibly develop the power, water, and industrial resources that AI infrastructure demands.

“The SOAR AI identity better represents the company we are building today and where we are going,” said CEO Chris Ensey, who had led Alignment Engine since early 2023 before being named Volato Group’s CEO in September 2026.

From private jets to AI infrastructure

The rebrand caps a dramatic pivot. Volato built its name in private aviation — including Vaunt, a platform for booking spots on private jets’ “empty-leg” flights — before selling most of its aviation assets to FlyExclusive and turning toward AI software and infrastructure. In August 2026, the company merged with Alignment Engine Inc. in a ~$500 million deal, acquiring a 154-megawatt AI campus site in Chillicothe, Ohio, at the former paper mill — with a pathway to 480 megawatts of power.

The numbers behind the new identity are substantial: approximately $1.2 billion of contracted customer demand, anchored by a master services agreement and two four-year, take-or-pay orders with a large AI customer totaling about $1.17 billion, including contractual prepayments. The first deployment will use AMD MI355X GPUs (contractual start December 31, 2026); the second will use AMD MI455X GPUs (starting June 30, 2027) — both designed as dedicated, single-tenant GPU clusters. Days after the rebrand announcement, the company also secured an equity facility of up to $1 billion to fund expansion of its AI infrastructure platform.

A “neocloud and data center builder”

The new SOARAI.com website describes the company as a “neocloud and data center builder and operator” focused on sovereign and sustainable AI — offering dedicated and shared AI computing capacity as well as on-premises and edge systems, built around “community-integrated” campuses, skilled jobs, industrial renewal, and efficient use of local resources. The company also touts a proprietary NeuralSync data-movement technology.

The rebrand does not erase the company’s software roots: it continues developing AI-powered operational systems for aviation businesses through its Aviation AI platform (built on Parslee, an AI platform for automating complex aviation workflows) and keeps operating the Vaunt private-aviation membership platform.
