Zendesk is a customer-service software company founded in 2007 in Copenhagen, Denmark by three friends — Mikkel Svane, Morten Primdahl, and Alexander Aghassipour — who built the first version in Svane’s loft. After moving to San Francisco in 2009 and going public in 2014, Zendesk became a leading SaaS platform for support ticketing, live chat, and customer experience. In November 2022 it was taken private in a $10.2 billion acquisition led by Hellman & Friedman and Permira.
