About Veoh

Veoh was an American video-sharing website created in September 2005 by Dmitry Shapiro and Ted Dunning. Launched first as a virtual television network application, it re-established itself as a video-sharing site in March 2006 and grew into one of the largest video platforms of the mid-2000s, backed by around $70 million from investors including Time Warner, Intel, and Goldman Sachs. After filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in February 2010, it was rescued by Qlipso and sold to Japan’s FC2 in June 2013. Veoh shut down on November 11, 2024, redirecting visitors to FC2 Video.

Veoh Logo Meaning and History

The Veoh logo was a simple lowercase wordmark — an unpretentious mark for a platform that wanted anyone to record and share video online. In an era of playful Web 2.0 branding, its simplicity kept the focus on the content: full-length, television-quality video delivered over a peer-to-peer network.
