About Tango

Tango is a social live-streaming platform developed by TangoME, Inc. Founded in September 2009 in Mountain View, California by Uri Raz and Eric Setton, it launched as one of the first mobile apps offering video calls, texting, and photo sharing over 3G networks. The company raised $280 million in a March 2014 round including Alibaba and Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang. In 2017 Tango pivoted from messaging into live video broadcasting, becoming a B2C live-streaming platform with a virtual gifting economy and more than 400 million registered users.

Tango Logo Meaning and History

The Tango identity is a friendly, rounded wordmark — approachable lettering that suited first a consumer chat app and later a creator-driven live-streaming community. The mark’s warmth reflects the platform’s social core: connecting people through live video, chat, and interactive gifting.
