Brand Overview
Hisense was founded in 1969 in Qingdao, China, as a radio factory, and grew into one of the world’s largest TV and appliance makers, selling refrigerators, air conditioners and televisions in more than 160 countries. Hisense sponsors FIFA World Cups and owns the Gorenje and Toshiba TV brands.
- Founded: 1969, Qingdao, China
- Founder: Qingdao state electronics works
- Industry: Appliances and electronics
- Headquarters: Qingdao, Shandong, China
History of the Hisense Logo
Hisense’s Latin wordmark settled into heavy green lettering with a single orange dot over the i — a small warm accent in an otherwise corporate mark. The identity carried the brand from domestic Chinese maker to World Cup sponsor without a fundamental redesign.
Meaning of the Hisense Logo
- The green: a deep technical green — growth and electronics energy, distinct from rivals’ blues and reds.
- The orange dot: one warm spark on the i keeps the heavy wordmark human and memorable.
- The heavy italics-lean: forward-slanting weight suggests a company in a hurry — accurate for Hisense’s global expansion.
