Avenance was a contract catering brand operating in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. In the Netherlands, it traded as Elior Nederland B.V., based in Lijnden, with an annual turnover of around 95.5 million euros and roughly 1,350 employees, serving high-profile clients including Schiphol Airport, Ernst & Young, and the World Trade Center. The Dutch operation was sold to Compass Group in 2011. In the UK, Avenance was the Business & Industry sector of Elior UK, generating about 150 million pounds in turnover and catering for clients such as Harrods, Sainsbury’s, GSK, Lloyds of London, and Nestlé UK. The brand was a significant player in European workplace catering before being absorbed into larger catering groups.
The Avenance logo was a corporate wordmark designed for the hospitality and catering sector, an industry where logos must convey warmth, freshness, and professionalism at a glance. Catering brand marks of this era typically used friendly, rounded typography and appetizing color palettes — often greens, oranges, or warm reds — to suggest fresh food and attentive service. The Avenance identity was applied across uniforms, menus, signage, and service vehicles at client sites, giving the brand a consistent face inside the offices, airports, and retail spaces it served.
