Atlassian is an Australian-American software company headquartered in Sydney, known for collaboration tools including Jira, Confluence, Trello, and Bitbucket. It was founded in 2002 by University of New South Wales classmates Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar, who bootstrapped the startup with $10,000 in credit card debt. The company famously grew without a traditional sales team, relying on self-service and word of mouth, and went public on NASDAQ in 2015. It now serves over 300,000 customers in more than 190 countries.
The name Atlassian derives from Atlas, the Greek titan condemned to hold up the heavens — a metaphor for the company supporting teams’ work. From 2011 to 2017 the logo depicted a stylized blue figure holding up the sky, directly referencing Atlas. The 2017 redesign replaced it with a modern abstract mark — interlocking shapes forming an A — suggesting teamwork, building blocks, and upward momentum.
Atlassian blue — a confident, trustworthy medium blue — is the brand’s signature, paired with a clean geometric sans-serif wordmark. Whether you need an atlassian logo png with a transparent background or an atlassian logo svg vector for crisp scaling, the simple A mark stays sharp at any size.
