Atlantic Records is an American record label founded in October 1947 by Ahmet Ertegun and Herb Abramson. From its first recordings in January 1948, Atlantic became one of the most important labels in American music, building its reputation on jazz, R&B, and soul with artists including Ruth Brown — whose success earned the label the nickname the house that Ruth built — Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, and Otis Redding. In 1967 Atlantic became a subsidiary of Warner Bros.-Seven Arts, now Warner Music Group, and expanded into rock and pop with Led Zeppelin, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, and Yes. In 2004 it merged with Elektra into the Atlantic Music Group, based in New York City.
The Atlantic logo is a bold, no-nonsense wordmark that has carried the label’s identity from 78-rpm discs to the streaming era. Its straightforward typography reflects the label’s founding ethos: Ertegun and Abramson built Atlantic by scouring nightclubs for talent, and the unpretentious mark became a stamp of quality on some of the greatest recordings in popular music.
The Atlantic Records wordmark is typically rendered in solid black or white — a stark, confident logotype that works across album covers, label designs, and digital platforms. Whether you need an atlantic records logo png with a transparent background or an atlantic records logo svg vector for music-editorial projects, the strong lettering stays crisp at any size.
