About ASUS
ASUS (ASUSTeK Computer Inc.) is a Taiwanese multinational computer hardware and electronics company headquartered in Beitou District, Taipei. Founded on April 2, 1989, by T.H. Tung, Ted Hsu, Wayne Hsieh, and M.T. Liao — four hardware engineers who had worked at Acer — ASUS grew from making motherboards into one of the world’s largest PC vendors, known for laptops, motherboards, graphics cards, monitors, and the ROG (Republic of Gamers) and TUF Gaming brands. The name comes from Pegasus, the winged horse of Greek mythology; only the last four letters were kept, partly to rank high in alphabetical listings. Its tagline since 2013 has been In Search of Incredible.
ASUS Logo Meaning and History
The ASUS logo is a bold, all-caps wordmark whose connected letters suggest precision engineering and forward motion. The name’s Pegasus origin hints at aspiration and flight — fitting for a brand built on innovation. Since 1995 the wordmark has carried a distinctive cut: a white line slices horizontally through the upper part of the letters, adding sharpness and a technological edge.
ASUS Logo Evolution

- 1995 — A redesigned wordmark with connected letters in a darker blue and the signature horizontal white cut through the upper letterforms.
- 2022 — A refreshed identity set in TT Norms Pro, refining the modern wordmark.
