ASU Main refers to the main campus identity of Arizona State University, the public research university based in the Phoenix metropolitan area, Arizona. Founded in 1885 as the Territorial Normal School, ASU has grown into one of the largest universities in the United States, renowned for innovation, sustainability research, and online education. The university’s athletic teams, the Sun Devils, compete in the Big 12 Conference, with the maroon-and-gold colors and Sparky the Sun Devil mascot recognized nationwide. The “Main” designation distinguishes the historic Tempe campus — the university’s flagship — within ASU’s multi-campus system.
The ASU Main logo draws on Arizona State University’s iconic visual identity, centered on the maroon-and-gold color scheme and the pitchfork symbol associated with the Sun Devils. University marks of this stature are designed for maximum recognition across athletics, academics, and merchandise, using bold collegiate typography and the fearless pitchfork emblem that dates back decades. The Tempe campus identity carries the full weight of ASU’s heritage, from its 1885 origins to its current status as an innovation leader. The logo appears on everything from football helmets and diplomas to research publications, making it one of the most visible marks in American higher education.
