Armani is an Italian luxury fashion group founded in 1975 in Milan by designer Giorgio Armani and his partner, architect Sergio Galeotti. Armani revolutionized menswear by stripping structure from the traditional suit, creating soft, unstructured tailoring with clean lines and neutral palettes. The look became a global sensation and dressed Hollywood through the 1980s.
The company has grown into a multi-line empire covering Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, and A|X Armani Exchange, plus the Armani Privé couture line, fragrances, eyewear, hotels, and restaurants, making it Italy’s second-largest fashion group.
Armani uses two celebrated marks. The Giorgio Armani monogram is an elegant circle formed by a rounded “G” completing a curved “A,” the founder’s initials in a minimalist, refined identity. The Emporio Armani eagle is a right-facing eagle built from horizontal stripes with the letters G and A hidden in its body.
The eagle stands for nobility, power, and courage, classical values the brand associates with its idea of elegance. It has become the most recognizable of the house’s symbols.
All Armani logos share a monochrome black (#000000) and white (#FFFFFF) color scheme, the brand’s signature of classic restraint, with occasional beige and luxury variants. The wordmark is an elegant high-contrast serif, commonly identified as Didot, while the Emporio eagle is drawn as a geometric emblem of black horizontal stripes.
