About Alpine

Automobiles Alpine is a French manufacturer of sports cars and racing cars, created in 1954–55 by Dieppe garage owner and rally driver Jean Rédélé. The marque was named after his Coupe des Alpes rally victories, and its lightweight Renault-based cars — including the iconic A110 — dominated rallying, winning the first World Rally Championship in 1973. Renault acquired Alpine in 1973, phased the brand out in 1995, and relaunched it in 2017 with the new A110. Since 2021, Renault’s Formula 1 team has raced as the Alpine F1 Team.

Alpine Logo Meaning and History

The Alpine emblem is a stylized arrow-like “A” that evokes both mountain peaks and forward speed — a fitting mark for a brand born in alpine rallying. Rendered in French racing blue with white and red accents, it proudly carries the French tricolor, underlining Alpine’s national identity within the Renault group.
