About the AFC Logo
About AFC
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is the governing body of football across Asia and Australia. Founded in 1954 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, it represents 47 member associations — the largest football community in the world. The AFC organizes the AFC Asian Cup, the AFC Champions League, and youth and women’s competitions, while developing referees, coaches, and grassroots football across the continent.
AFC Logo Meaning and History
The new brand identity’s ribbon-like mark traces the fluid movements of players on the pitch, folding seamlessly into the letters “AFC” — embodying the idea of “Connecting Asia Through the Power of Football.” The earlier shield logo, used for decades, symbolized tradition and the unification of Asia’s football organizations under one body.
AFC Logo Evolution
- 1954: The original shield logo was introduced, rendered in green and yellow with decorative “AFC” lettering and a soccer ball.
- 2001: The shield was updated, its only redesign in more than two decades.
- 2024: On December 31, 2024, the AFC unveiled a new brand identity — white ribbon-like “AFC” letters on a navy background with a gold accent — the first evolution in over 23 years.
AFC Logo Colors and Font
The current identity uses navy blue, white, and gold in a custom ribbon-style letterform; the historic shield paired green and yellow. Whether you need an afc logo png with a transparent background or an afc logo svg vector for crisp scaling, the flat artwork stays recognizable at any size.
