About ADT
ADT Inc. is one of the largest and oldest security companies in the United States, providing monitored home and business security, fire protection, and smart-home automation. Its roots go back to April 5, 1874, when inventor Edward Callahan created a telegraph-based “call-box” alert system after a nighttime break-in at his home — connecting 50 neighboring homes into the first residential security network. The American District Telegraph company was incorporated shortly after, on August 14, 1874, in Baltimore. Today ADT protects millions of U.S. customers with 24/7 professional monitoring and smart-home automation.
ADT Logo Meaning and History
The ADT name is short for American District Telegraph, the company’s original 1874 identity. Its most recognizable mark is the bold octagonal badge carrying the letters “ADT” — an emblem of protection from all sides that has become synonymous with home security in America. In 1991 the company introduced its iconic blue yard sign, now standing in millions of front yards as a visible deterrent.

ADT Logo Colors and Font
The classic ADT badge is a blue octagon with white “ADT” letters — blue for trust, white for clarity. The letters are set in a bold, custom sans-serif with tight spacing. The file offered here is a one-color version of the badge. For an adt logo png with a transparent background or an adt logo svg vector for signage and print, the octagonal emblem stays instantly recognizable at any size.
