About Aconite
Aconite was a London-based software company founded in 2000, specializing in smart card management and EMV (chip-and-PIN) migration solutions for banks, card issuers and processors. Its products — including Smart EMV Manager, Aconite PIN Manager and the Affina Enterprise platform — helped financial institutions move from magnetic-stripe cards to chip cards and onward to contactless and mobile payments. Its technology was deployed by Fiserv in the U.S. and by Nets, ICS and First Data in Europe, powering the issuance and management of tens of millions of EMV cards. In 2008 it acquired the Affina Enterprise Platform from the Datacard Group, and in February 2015 it was acquired by Proxama.
Aconite Logo Meaning and History
The Aconite brand stood for deep, specialist expertise in the complex world of chip-card standards — the kind of quiet, technical authority banks rely on when migrating entire card portfolios. Its identity was that of a focused fintech infrastructure provider: precise, secure and global, active across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, the Americas and Southern Africa directly and through partners.
