About Accenture
Accenture plc is a global professional services company headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, providing technology, consulting, and outsourcing services in more than 120 countries. Its roots lie in the consulting division of accounting firm Arthur Andersen in the early 1950s — the division once ran a landmark study that led General Electric to install one of the first commercial computers in the US. The practice became Andersen Consulting in 1989, but in 2000 an arbitrator granted it independence. After a $1.2 billion settlement — and losing the rights to the Andersen name — it rebranded as “Accenture” on January 1, 2001, a name coined by an employee to mean an “accent on the future.” A successful IPO followed on the New York Stock Exchange in July 2001.
Accenture Logo Meaning and History
The Accenture logo is a confident lowercase wordmark topped by a small “>” symbol — a “greater-than” chevron — above the letter “t.” The chevron embodies the “accent on the future” idea: progress, momentum, and technology pointing forward. The all-lowercase treatment keeps the mark modern and approachable, while the deep purple gives it a distinctive identity.
Accenture Logo Evolution

Accenture Logo Colors and Font
Accenture’s signature color is a vivid purple (#A100FF), with a black or white lowercase wordmark in a custom geometric sans-serif. The “>” above the “t” doubles as a standalone icon.
