About Acadia Pharmaceuticals

Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. (stylized ACADIA) is a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in San Diego, California. Founded in 1993 (originally as Receptor Technologies), the company focuses on developing innovative medicines for unmet medical needs in central nervous system disorders. Acadia developed and commercialized Nuplazid (pimavanserin) — approved by the FDA in April 2016 as the first and only treatment for hallucinations and delusions associated with Parkinson’s disease psychosis — and Daybue, approved in 2023 for Rett syndrome. The company is publicly traded on Nasdaq under the ticker ACAD.

Acadia Pharmaceuticals Logo Meaning and History

For most of its history, the Acadia logo paired an all-caps wordmark with a serene blue-gradient circle — a calm, clinical emblem inspired by the company’s national-park-evocative name. In 2025 the company unveiled a bold rebrand: an orange sunburst replaced the placid circle, and the wordmark became darker and more confident. CEO Catherine Owen Adams said the new identity expresses hope for the future — “bright, purposeful and visionary” — and a promise to patients, caregivers, and clinicians that the human side of science stays central.

Acadia Pharmaceuticals Logo Evolution

  • 1993: The company was founded as Receptor Technologies in San Diego, later renaming to Acadia Pharmaceuticals in 1997.
  • 1997–2024: The classic identity featured a serene blue-gradient circle beside the all-caps “ACADIA” wordmark.
  • 2016: FDA approval of Nuplazid brought the company its first commercial product under the classic logo.
  • 2025: A full rebrand replaced the circle with an orange sunburst and darkened the wordmark, signaling a new era in rare-disease neuroscience.

Acadia Pharmaceuticals Logo Colors and Font

The current identity pairs a vibrant orange sunburst with dark, confident sans-serif wordmark lettering; the legacy logo used a placid blue gradient with a lighter blue all-caps wordmark. Whether you need an acadia pharmaceuticals logo png with a transparent background or a vector svg, the sunburst emblem reproduces sharply across digital and print uses.
