The Saudi British Bank (SABB) was founded in 1978 as an associate of the HSBC Group, becoming one of the Kingdom’s leading international banks. Known for corporate banking excellence and trade finance, it served businesses and individuals across Saudi Arabia for four decades. In 2019, SABB merged with Alawwal Bank, and in 2023 the combined bank was rebranded as Saudi Awwal Bank — marking the end of the SABB name in a new chapter of Saudi banking consolidation. Its international connectivity through HSBC made it a preferred bank for multinational companies operating in the Kingdom. The bank was a pioneer in Saudi trade finance, supporting the Kingdom’s import and export growth.
The SABB logo was a distinguished banking identity pairing the bank’s name with a hexagonal, internationally inspired design language. Its deep red and white color scheme projected international pedigree and trust. Though retired after the rebrand, the SABB mark remains a familiar symbol of Saudi Arabia’s banking history, and the SABB logo PNG and SABB logo SVG are preserved here as free downloads. The hexagonal motif linked it visually to one of the world’s great banking brands. Archived SABB materials remain valuable references for the history of Gulf banking design.
