First Gulf Bank (FGB) was a major UAE bank founded in 1979 and headquartered in Abu Dhabi. Known for its strong corporate banking franchise and innovative retail products, it was one of the largest banks in the Emirates by assets. In 2017, FGB merged with the National Bank of Abu Dhabi to create First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), the largest bank in the UAE — a landmark consolidation in Gulf banking history. At its peak, the bank was celebrated for strong profitability and a pioneering approach to consumer banking in the Emirates. Its landmark merger created the UAE’s largest bank, reshaping the Gulf’s financial landscape.
The FGB logo was a bold corporate banking mark featuring the bank’s abbreviated name in strong, modern lettering. Its identity used deep, confident colors typical of Gulf financial institutions, projecting strength, growth and ambition. Although the brand was retired after the FAB merger, the FGB logo remains a recognizable symbol of the UAE’s banking evolution, and the FGB logo PNG and FGB logo SVG are preserved here as free downloads. The bold letterforms projected the confidence of an institution that helped shape modern UAE banking. Vintage FGB branding is still spotted on older signage, a reminder of the bank’s legacy.
