AIB Group Logo Meaning and History

The AIB mark is built around a Viking longship — a nod to Ireland’s Norse heritage — crowned by a dove carrying an olive branch, symbols of safe passage and peace. Below the emblem, the bold serif wordmark “AIB” is paired with the word “Group,” presenting the institution as a single unified group across its retail and corporate divisions. The strict black-and-white treatment gives the logo a timeless, authoritative feel that works across branches, cards, and digital banking.
