About Astra International
PT Astra International Tbk is an Indonesian conglomerate headquartered in Jakarta. It was founded in 1957 as PT Astra International Incorporated by Tjia Kian Tie and Liem Pen Hong, went public on the Jakarta Stock Exchange in 1990, and is majority-owned by Jardine Cycle & Carriage. Astra International Logo Meaning and History
The original logo placed the red “ASTRA” name on a white band curving across a globe showing Asia and Australia — a statement of the company’s scale and ambition. The name itself suggests the stars (from the Latin “astra”), reinforcing the brand’s aspirational identity, while the modern wordmark keeps the confident red capitals.
