AŠK Inter Slovnaft Bratislava was a Slovak football club based in the capital, Bratislava. Founded in 1940 as ŠK Apollo, the club was renamed in 1991 to reflect its sponsorship ties, including the Slovnaft oil refinery. Inter’s greatest achievement came in 1959, when it won the Czechoslovak championship, the top football honor of the former Czechoslovakia. The club played its home matches in Bratislava and was a fixture of Slovak football through the late twentieth century. In 2009, the club sold its league license, bringing its professional journey to an end, but its name remains part of Slovak football history.
The AŠK Inter Slovnaft logo was a classic Central European football crest combining the club’s identity with its industrial sponsor’s name. Football badges of the Czechoslovak era typically featured bold shields with the club’s colors, founding references, and strong geometric designs reflecting the sporting aesthetics of the time. The “Inter” name suggested international ambition, while the Slovnaft addition tied the club to Bratislava’s industrial heritage. The crest was worn during the club’s 1959 championship triumph and through its Slovak-era campaigns, and it survives in football archives as an emblem of Bratislava’s rich sporting past.
