About Actebis
Actebis was a German IT wholesale distributor founded in 1986 in Soest, Germany, and it grew to become the third-largest IT distributor in Europe. The company supplied computer hardware, software, and peripherals to resellers across seven European countries, serving as a key link between global technology manufacturers and local dealers. In 2007, Actebis was acquired by the investment group Arques, and in 2010 it merged with the Swiss distributor Also, creating one of the continent’s largest IT distribution groups. The Actebis brand name was phased out after the merger, but the company remains an important part of European technology-channel history.
Actebis Logo Meaning and History
The Actebis logo was a technology-sector wordmark built for the fast-moving IT distribution business of the 1990s and 2000s. Tech distributor logos of that era favored dynamic, forward-leaning letterforms and energetic color combinations — often blue paired with a bright accent — to suggest speed, connectivity, and innovation. The Actebis mark appeared on packaging, trade-show booths, catalogs, and delivery vehicles across its seven-country network, giving resellers a consistent brand to recognize. After the 2010 merger with Also, the identity was retired in favor of the Also brand, so the Actebis logo now survives mainly in vector archives as a record of Europe’s IT channel consolidation.
