About AMP

AMP — originally an acronym for Accelerated Mobile Pages — is an open-source HTML framework for building fast-loading web pages, developed by the AMP Open Source Project. Announced by Google on October 7, 2015, AMP was created to dramatically improve mobile web performance through streamlined HTML, restricted JavaScript, and CDN caching. AMP pages began appearing in Google mobile search results in February 2016, and the project moved to an open governance model in 2018, joining the OpenJS Foundation in 2019.

AMP Logo Meaning and History

The AMP logo is a lightning bolt set inside a circle — the universal symbol of speed and electric energy, perfectly matched to a framework whose entire purpose is making the web faster. The bolt-in-circle icon became familiar to millions of mobile users as the marker of instantly loading pages in search results.

Evolution of the AMP Logo

• Today: The bolt mark represents the open web-components framework at amp.dev.

AMP Logo Colors and Font

The AMP logo is rendered in the project’s official Amp blue (#005AF0), with common vector versions showing a bright azure bolt (around #0379C4) on a white background. The clean geometric bolt needs no wordmark to be recognized. Whether you need an amp logo png with a transparent background or an amp logo svg vector for crisp scaling, the flat blue artwork stays sharp at any size.
