About AEM
AEM S.p.A. — Azienda Elettrica Municipale — was the municipal energy company of Milan, Italy, and one of the country’s major utilities, supplying electricity, gas, water, and environmental services. Its roots stretch back to 1880 as Milan’s municipal electricity enterprise. On January 1, 2008, AEM merged with AMSA (Milan’s environmental services company) and ASM of Brescia to form A2A S.p.A., creating one of Italy’s largest multi-utilities. A2A, listed on the Borsa Italiana and a FTSE MIB member, remains partially owned by the municipalities of Milan and Brescia and is a major northern-Italian multi-utility.
AEM Logo Meaning and History
The classic AEM logo is a bold, almost heraldic mark: the letters “AEM” rendered in yellow with a red outline, crossed by a horizontal white stripe that breaks through the letterforms. The yellow-and-red pairing echoes the colors of the city of Milan’s civic heraldry, while the white bar cutting across the letters suggests energy in motion — a fitting emblem for a power utility. The mark remained in use until the 2008 merger retired the AEM identity in favor of A2A.

AEM Logo Colors and Font
The logo uses a vivid yellow fill for the letters with a strong red outline (approximately #CF4037 as sampled from the vector artwork) and a clean white stripe crossing the mark. The letterforms are heavy, blocky capitals. For an aem logo png with a transparent background or an aem logo svg vector for editorial and historical content, the bold three-color artwork is striking at any size.
